Today is designated Cookies for cogdog Day. Ethan made chocolate while I made butterscotch chip.

One of the beautiful things about living in a rural community is that we don’t know any strangers. We do however, know people that deserve a surprise. One such community member is an elderly bachelor farmer. He lost his brother a few years ago, and provides for his sister-in-law and nephews. Sometimes however, the strong providers need someone to look out for them. So we did.

Another community member often feeds those around her. So she was another cookie recipient. When we told her the story, she said she’d like to make that a tradition of her own. Alyce lives on.
